Sir Hugh Orde, formerly Chief Constable of the PSNI and now president of ACPO last week gave this year’s Longford Lecture.
He talked about the restorative processes introduced in Northern Ireland to deal with the large number of murder cases where families had been given little or no information about the investigation or any resulting proceedings.
I found the lecture very interesting and was pleased when today the transcript of his talk was made available on the Longford Trust website.
It’s worth a read – ‘War is Easy. Peace is the Difficult Prize’.
