Aspire were on the road again in November, visiting churches around the Midlands and leading worship for those congregations. This is an important aspect of what Aspire do, helping inform Christians about penal issues and suggesting ways faith communities can help ex-offenders.
Knowle Parish Church was kind enough to ask us to come and take an evening service for them. They have two services, a formal one at 6.30pm and a later, informal one at 7.45pm which better suited our style of worship.
Everyone at the church was very friendly and welcoming, helping us set up and get ready for the service. Attendance was good and those present seemed to appreciate the blend of music and drama, information and challenge. Afterwards a number of people expressed interest in keeping in touch. There were leaflets for everyone to take away and as well as the website, there’s a quarterly newsletter people can ask to receive.
Associate Vicar Richard reported good feedback in the following week and we hope to keep in touch with Knowle and perhaps make a return visit at some point in the future.
